Hey, I plan to buy a Canon Rebel XTI camera for taking pictures in concerts mainly. Is the stock 18-55mm lens good enough? Most of the time I will be sitting at the first 10 rows. Or should I just buy the body only and buy the lens somewhere else? Suggestions welcome. Thank you.

Get the 18-55 (it’s dirt cheap) and try it out with the camera’s ISO cranked up all the way.
If you’re still not getting acceptable (non-blurry) shots, consider a faster lens.
I don’t think the 50 will get you close enough — you may need longer, faster and more expensive glass — but don’t shell out for it until you’re sure you need it.
Hope this helps.
You need a lens with a low f# eg. 50mmF1.4. These lenses can be quite expensive. shop around. Ebay is great for this.
B&H photo is also very good.
Kit lens won’t work too well for concert images. get a 50mm (either f1.8 at around $100 or F1.4 at around $350) and you’ll be all set
