Buy a Nikon instead if you are new to DSLR, The Kit lens of the XTi is CRAP (D40 kit lens is way SUPERIOR) plus the built in sensor cleaner is a so-so,…YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
dude , DSLR’s are made so that u can change the lenses, i suppose its personal preference ,and canon advertises whaaaaaay to much, i prefer nikon aswell

i’m really considering this as my first DSLR camera. i’m a make up artist, so it’s important that i get crisp portrait / close up shots. do you think the kit lens is a good lens for portraits? or do your recommend any other lenses for portraits?
the kit lenses is good, also consider the 75-300 mm is not expensive
for sure extra-batteries too!!
get a 50mm f/1.4 0r f/1.8 kit lens will most lickley suck
