My friends going to buy a new camera so shes looking to sell her Canon EOS Rebel XTi for 300. Which is a really good deal seeing that it’s 600. But I wanted to know if the camera’s any good like the quality of the photos. If it takes nice indoor photos as well as outdoor. And it’s user friendly because this will be my first dslr.

The XTI is a great introductory camera into the SLR world. Although the settings may seem complicated, they are much easier than the higher end SLR cameras.
Photo quality is very good. The lens that you put on can have alot to do with that but the basic lens that comes with the SLI will work for basic close up shots (within 12-15 ft). If you want to shoot further than that I would highly recommend getting a zoom lens for it.
You can have 18 different lenses for the same camera. That’s another thing great about SLR cameras.
ask you friend to let you borrow it for a few hours, or days. Take some pics. Review the owners manual. If she doesn’t have one go to Barnes and Noble and read one that’s on the shelf. Battery charger? Spare battery. How often, and how many pics are you going to take? A lot, often, you might want a memory card with a large capacity; like CF
It’s $600 NEW. When she bought it, and walked out the store door with it, it became used. It’s resale value might be $300-400 or less. If she is buying another Canon she will prob want to keep any extra lenses she might have; however, if she is switching to another brand (Nikon) you might get her lenses cheap. EF series lens or EF-S series lens work on digital Canon’s. EF-S only work on digital, not film cameras.
300$ it’s a good deal, but not the greatest. Always check ebay (ending soonest items), that’s the real price.
And if you care about the camera, and not too much on the price, the XTi is a GREAT camera (have been my camera for 3 years) you wont regret it.
If she is selling it only with the lens that comes with the kit (18-55mm) it’s a good start. If you want greater quality, get an cheap Canon 50mm f/1.8 (under 100$) and you will LOVE IT.
The lens is the most important thing when it comes to quality. Always look for sample pictures over the internet.
