Canon Rebel digital camera?

I’m looking to buy a Canon Rebel, but I don’t know which one is best ($-wise/pixel-wise). I’m an amateur photographer and want an upgrade after having 2 Canon PowerShots malfunction after about 5 years. Can someone help me pick out my future digital camera? Also, where would be a best place to buy it as well (not online preferably)? Best Buy, Samy’s Camera, Ritz Camera, Fry’s?
What’s the difference between XT, XTi, , XS, and XSi?

DSLR Camera: Canon Rebel XS vs. Nikon D60?

I am looking to bu a DSLR camera, especially the Canon Rebel XS since I am just an amateur photographer and want to start with a not-so-expensive camera.

I want to look into other types of DSLR cameras like the Nikon D60.

Any thoughts about the Rebel XS and D60? Which one is better?

ALSO, please suggest other DSLR cameras that you think is worth it for just under 0.

WHat I look for in a camera is worth at least 10 MP, Long bulb setting (I love slow shutter speed), Fast shutter speed also, Manageable not complicated menus, Comfortable to hold. Good screen resolution.

I currently shoot with a Canon Exilim Z-85. Very bad quality with darker pictures. :(

I am an amateur photographer who knows little about flash photography and would like to start experimenting. There are a lot of different canon speedlite EX models to choose from and I’m not sure what is best for me.

I am trying to find a good camera for the amateur photographer I have used the Digital Rebel but i have heard good things about the XTi. I have also heard good things about the Canon 30D. what does the yahoo community think? Which should i get and where should i get it from?
