What flash unit should I get for my Canon Rebel XTi?

I am a photographer with a digital Canon Rebel XTi camera. I usually just use natural light, but lately bands I have done promos for have been wanting me to take live pictures. Since most of the shows are indoors, I’ve decided I need some proper flash equipment.

I’m a currently jobless teenager, so I need something really affordable. It doesn’t have to be top-of-the-line, I just want something that will do the job and make indoor flash photos look less crappy.

I was recently messing with settings on my camera (canon rebel XTi) and I somehow got it to take pictures in black and white, but it’s only when the camera is set on A-DEP, M, Av, Tv, and P. I do not have the manuel anymore. Can someone help me?

I ‘m really interested in photography and I am going to take a class this summer. The canon rebel xti has more mp 10 vs. 8 for the other two. Is the Canon 30D or 40D worth the extra money?

I’ve had a digital camera for a while now, but it’s pretty basic… I’ve saved up for a Canon Rebel XTi, a camera I really like, but I still have a few questions.
What’s the deal with lenses? The digital camera I was using didn’t have change-able lenses, so I’m clueless; what kind of lenses can go on a Canon Rebel XTi? Are all Canon lenses compatible, or are there certain ones for each specific camera make?

Also, if you have any tips about lenses or what kind I should get, that would be helpful, too.

My friend was telling me today that she would like to sell me her Canon Rebel XTI that came out in late 2006 so I’m assuming she bought it in 2007? Anywho, I was wondering if anyone knows how long they are made to last for? I don’t want to give her a few hundred bucks then have it break in a couple months. I know my other friend has an XSI that’s still kickin’

I’m an aspiring photographer, and looking to buy a new DSLR camera.
I am anything *but* an amateur, so don’t say ‘this is good for beginners’.
I just want to know which is better quality, the Canon Rebel XTI, or one of the Nikon series? (as in, which takes better pictures)

Hey, I plan to buy a Canon Rebel XTI camera for taking pictures in concerts mainly. Is the stock 18-55mm lens good enough? Most of the time I will be sitting at the first 10 rows. Or should I just buy the body only and buy the lens somewhere else? Suggestions welcome. Thank you.

I am looking to buy a Canon Rebel Xti. Since I’m putting so much money into getting it anyway (for a hobby photographer anyway) I’d like to get an extended warranty as well. I’ve looked at a lot of retailers, but I can’t decipher who has the best extended warranty and don’t have the experience to know who’d be the easiest to deal with if I had to have a repair made.

I want to do a multiple exposure in camera with my Canon Rebel Xti (450D). I know there are ways involving a bulb exposure and covering the lens half-way in between. Can someone provide me a step by step of that procedure or suggest any other techniques. I know it can be done in photoshop, but I work all in camera and want to keep it that way.

I have a Canon rebel xti which is 18 months old and shutter button is giving me trouble. Its not as smooth any more and has to be pressed harder then usual to take a picture. I intend to get this serviced as camera otherwise is working great. Do you have any recommendations who I should visit in NYC for reliable service?
