How do I know how much zoom has a 35 mm camera ?
This is for an amateur photographer who wants to be able to do things like zoom in on birds in trees/get decent shots of say a batter at a baseball game from the stadium seats, etc.
It’s heavy and cumbersome. Feels like I need a baby harness in front of my body.
BTW, this lens is a zoom, which can be closed to 70 mm. It also has image stabilization, so I’m sure the extra electronics add to the weight. Mostly, I’ll be using this lens rather than the one that came with the camera.

One has a 10. 1 Mega-Pixel 28-80mm lens and the other has 10MP D–SLR with 18-55mm Zoom lens. They are advertised at two different stores and I copied just how they were advertised. Each camera also has a 75-300mm Zoom lens that comes with this pkg deal. The first pkg deal is 9.00 at Best Buy and the second one is 7.00 at American TV. Which is a better lens and which is the best deal?
I need advise on what type of lens to purchase. I have a Canon Rebel XT camera. I want a lens that I can use to zoom in closer to the subject of the photo. As I have been searching, I see that there are telephoto, telephoto zoom, etc. I have no idea what to buy. I am not a professional photographer and can’t afford to spend 0 on a lens. What would be best for the average amature?
